Forgiveness work with Lourdes

Do you find yourself typing any of these onto your search bar? "how to forgive someone who hurt you", "forgiveness therapy", " I can't let go of resentment", "how to stop being angry at someone", "betrayal trauma", "healing after betrayal", "holding a grudge", "letting go of anger", "how to forgive myself", "stuck in resentment", "how do I let go of the past"?

Forgiveness is one of the most misunderstood tools in emotional healing. Many people arrive at forgiveness work after years of believing they should be able to "let it go" or "move on," only to find that something inside them still refuses. Something feels like it is digging it's heels in. That refusal is rarely a moral failing. More often, it is a sign that the wound has not yet been heard.

Lourdes works with people who are carrying old or recent hurt, often in ways that quietly shape daily life. The experiences that bring people to her practice tend to sound familiar:

Replaying the same betrayal, rejection, or loss long after it happened, unable to feel finished with it.

Feeling a wave of anger, tightness in the chest, or a sudden drop in mood when a memory surfaces.

Carrying resentment toward a partner, parent, sibling, friend, or former version of themselves, years after the event.

Struggling to trust again, swinging between cutting people off and minimizing what was done.

Feeling pressure to forgive on someone else's timeline, as though forgiveness is a debt that is owed.

Watching the body hold the story: clenched jaw, shallow sleep, a constant sense of bracing.

Lourdes helps clients move through old and recent hurt, including betrayal, rejection, loss, and resentment that keeps resurfacing. Many arrive believing they "should" be able to let it go, only to find the wound hasn't yet healed. Her approach to forgiveness work draws from Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Somatic Therapy, and explores the emotions beneath anger, the attachment wounds that may have been reactivated, and how the nervous system continues to carry unresolved pain. Forgiveness here is not excusing harm or staying in unsafe contact. It is about reclaiming peace.
