jACLYN bURGDORF, LMSW

Who is Jaclyn?

Jaclyn Burgdorf, LMSW understands what it feels like when your child is struggling—because she's been there.

As a child facing a rare illness that isolated her from peers, Jaclyn discovered the transformative power of play therapy firsthand. That experience didn't just help her heal; it sparked a lifelong mission: to create that same safe, healing space for other children navigating their own challenges.

What Parents Can Expect

Jaclyn brings a warm, genuinely collaborative approach to therapy. She meets each child exactly where they are—whether they're:

  • Working through anxiety or worry

  • Processing grief or major life changes

  • Recovering from trauma or difficult experiences

  • Exploring who they are and where they fit in

Drawing on both Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic approaches, Jaclyn helps children develop emotional awareness, understand their inner worlds, and build a stronger sense of self. Her clinical expertise includes trauma-informed care developed through work at Ben Taub Hospital and her advocacy for abuse survivors—meaning she's equipped to support children through complex, serious challenges with both skill and deep compassion.

A Therapist Who Gets It

Jaclyn's education is solid—Master of Social Work from the University of Houston, extensive clinical training, specialized trauma work. But what truly sets her apart is her genuine understanding of childhood struggle and her unwavering commitment to helping children heal the way she did.

Outside of sessions, Jaclyn stays grounded and present—you'll find her in pilates classes, with loved ones, or exploring Houston. That balance keeps her centered and able to show up fully for your family.

Your child deserves to be heard. Jaclyn creates that space.
